This prototype R-3843 was built by Bob Enders in the late 1980's and was commissioned by Leroy Dibble of Saline, Michigan. This piece was built to determine whether both Mr. Enders and Mr. Dibble would commission an 18 piece knife build of the "Remington Bullets" as shown in Mel Brewster's book "Remington Bullet Knives". This particular knife was chosen because it was the most difficult to build due to the unique tools included.

The knife was and overwhelming achievement and led to the decision to proceed with the 18 piece set. Two 18 piece sets were produced. The first went to Mr. Dibble and the 2nd was kept by Mr. Enders. Only two sets were produced due the difficulty in making them.

Enclosed within this case, you will find the original cardboard cut-outs of the
frame and blades, the original prototypes of the corkscrew and the knife
itself.

Mr. Enders passed away in 2007, but his legacy in custom knives and particularly, in slipjoints, will live on through his work. Old School Knife Works is proud to present this one of a kind piece of history and centerpiece for any Remington Collection.
